Bahubali beats PK, Scores 240 cr Worldwide in 5 Days

It looks like SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus Baahubali – the Beginning is on the record-breaking spree at the box office. At the end of day 5 (First Tuesday), it shattered one more record of the fastest 200 crores held by Aamir Khan’s blockbuster movie PKPK took six days to earn Rs 200 crore at the worldwide box office whereas Baahubali reached that feat in just 5 days. In fact, it amassed about 200 crores in the domestic market only and the worldwide collection has been reported approx 240 crores.

Bahubali

The Bahubali tsunami is just unstoppable at the box office even during the weekdays. Even the blockbuster movies show considerable decline during weekday, but Baahubali is rock steady. The collection of Hindi and Malayalam versions went up on Tuesday in comparison to Monday. The Hindi version that earned 6.10 crores on Monday fetched 6.15 crores on Tuesday. In Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, the movie is still reporting 80-100% occupancy whereas in other southern regions, the occupancy is 60-75%. This kind of occupancy during weekdays is the main reason behind the rock solid box office performance of the movie. Salman’s Bajrangi Bhaijan will have almost zero impact on Bahubali in the southern India and if Bajrangi Bhaijaan turns out another masala flick of Salman, Babubali might show its muscle power in Hindi regions, too.
