Zoya Akhtar’s multi-starrer Dil Dhadakne Do did good business in its opening weekend, but the movie can’t maintain the momentum during the weekdays and as a result of this, the movie couldn’t put an excellent box office number in its first week. Due to the good weekend figure, the movie came up with a decent total in its very first week.
This multi-starrer flick, that fetched about 37 crores in its opening weekend, garnered 20 crores more to take its total to 57 crores as the first week business. The movie fared good in the metros, but the occupancy in the single screen areas was low bottom. The movie will definitely feel competition in form of Tanu Weds Manu and Hamari Adhuri Kahani. The film had the third best opening of the year after Tanu Weds Manu Returns (70 crore) and Gabbar Is Back (60 crore).
