After doing an excellent business in the first week, Ranveer Singh’s Bajirao Mastani continued its box office juggernaut in the second week despite competition from Dilwale and Star Wars. Riding on excellent word of mouth publicity, the movie scored a half century in the second week to become the second film of 2015 after Bajrangi Bhaijaan to achieve this feat.
The saying ‘content is the king for any movie‘ became true once again in case of Bajirao Mastani as it surpassed its competitor Dilwale at the domestic box office after second weekend despite having a smaller opening figure. The second weekend collection of Bajirao Mastani is the second highest of the year after blockbuster Bajrangi Bhaijaan whereas Dilwale witnessed approx 70% drop in the collection compare to first weekend.
Ranveer Singh’s Bajirao Mastani reached another milestone on second Saturday when it hit a century at the domestic box office. Though the movie had about 15% drop in the collection compared to second Friday, the collection remained in double digit that helped it in crossing 100 crores mark. Also, the film is performing far better than its competitor Dilwale which has now lost its momentum at the ticket counters.

The daily collection during weekday was either in double digit or very close to that and as a result of this unprecedented trend at the ticket counters, it posted a fabulous total at the end of the first week.
