Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter starrer Dhadak is all set to take over the lifetime collection of Karan Johar’s Student Of The Year (2012) at the box-office. Although the film witnessed a huge drop in its second week, a half-century in the first week has ensured that it will be a successful movie for the makers.
As per the box office reports, the film collected 17.61 crores in the second week to take its total domestic box office collection to 69.16 crores after 14 days. The decline in the collection in the second week with respect to the first week is about 66%, which is more than the normal decline. Other than Maharashtra and Gujarat regions, the film could not do any wonder at the ticket counters. If it had worked in other regions too, it would have cross 85 crores in its lifetime.
Dhadak is now a few lakh away from surpassing the lifetime collection of Student Of The Year (Rs 70 crore), which was also produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and starred newbies Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, and Sidharth Malhotra.
The box office collection of the film is as follows:
Week 1: ₹ 51.55 cr
Week 2: ₹ 17.61 cr
Total: ₹ 69.16 cr HIT
