Shashank Khaitan’s latest movie Dhadak had a good second weekend at the box office. Despite facing a tough competition from Mission Impossible – Fallout, the film posted a good total in the second weekend. The new Bollywood release Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3 failed miserably at the ticket counters, which helped Dhadak to grow on Saturday and Sunday.
As per the box office reports, the film amassed 11.83 crores in the second weekend to take its total domestic box office collection to 63.39 crores after 10 days. The film is heading towards 70 crores mark by the end of the second week.
Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted out the figures. “#Dhadak has a HEALTHY Weekend 2… Witnesses ample growth on Sat and Sun… In fact, Sun was double of Fri… Speeding towards ₹ 70 cr mark… [Week 2] Fri 2.61 cr, Sat 4.02 cr, Sun 5.20 cr. Total: ₹ 63.39 cr. India biz.“, he wrote.
The third week is going to be painful for the film as three Bollywood movies will release on Friday. Dhadak will lose a large number of screens, but if those films fail like Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3 did, Dhadak will be the main beneficiary. Looking at the current trend at the ticket counters, it seems that the lifetime collection might cross 75 crores mark. If it had performed in northern regions, it would have touched 85 crores mark in its lifetime.
The box office collection of the film is as follows:
Week 1: ₹ 51.56 cr
Friday (Day 8): ₹ 2.61 cr
Saturday (Day 9): ₹ 4.02 cr
Sunday (Day 10): ₹ 5.20 cr
Total: ₹ 63.39 cr
