Dilwale Remains Dull in the Fourth Weekend

Shahrukh Khan’s one of the most awaited movies Dilwale reached the end of its run at the box office in the fourth weekend. The daily collection during 4th weekend remained in lakhs as it could not manage good number of footfalls in theaters.

Dilwale Remains Dull in the Fourth Weekend

As per the box office reports, the movie earned approx 1.25 crores in the fourth weekend to take its total domestic box office collection to 138.44 crores. As the daily collection during weekend was in lakhs, it seems that the lifetime collection might be less than 141 crores and the difference between Bajirao Mastani and Dilwale will be more than 45 crores. The reason for the bad performance of Dilwale can be attributed to its content. As the box office history suggests, the masala movies lose the momentum after first week. Almost 70-75% of the total earning of the masala movies come from the first week. Because of competition from Bajirao Mastani, it couldn’t hit century in the first week and hence it performed below expectation.
