It seems that SRK’s Dilwale has lost its momentum at the domestic box office and as a result of that the collection in the second weekend has come down in single digit. The history of box office insinuates that masala films garner most of its revenue in the very first week and it’s true for all masala movies starting any actor. The marketing and promotion bring the moviegoers to the theaters, but due to lack of content it starts going down after first week.
As per the box office reports, the movie added approx 6 crores to its kitty on second Saturday to take its total domestic box office collection to 111 crores. The movie didn’t have any jump in the collection on Christmas holiday, so it is possible that it might remain flat or witness another drop in the earning on Sunday. If it doesn’t show growth in the collection on Sunday, its earning might come behind its competitor Bajirao Mastani after second weekend. Also, at this pace the film might find it tough to cross 150 crores in the domestic market.
