Ajay Devgan’s thriller drama film Drishyam couldn’t set the box office on fire in the first weekend despite having strong words of mouth. The movie was released to the limited number of screens (about 2650) and it had an average opening on Friday, but due to its superb content it witnessed upsurge in the collection on Saturday and Sunday.
As per the box office reports, the film collected approx 30.03 crores in the first weekend including paid preview. The collection of the film can’t be termed as excellent as it figures a big name ‘Ajay Devgn’. Two blockbusters ‘Bahubali’, and ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ really impeded the opening weekend collection of the film, but its amazing content and inspirational acting of the stars will help it in putting a good number in the first week. The first week collection might be about 50-52 crores if the movie can maintain the momentum during weekdays.
