Anil Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and Rajkummar Rao’s Fanney Khan performed unexpectedly at the box office on Friday. The film features big names, so such poor opening is not along the lines of expectation. It needs a big jump during the weekend to post a decent total in its lifetime.
As per the box office reports, the film collected 2.15 crores on its first day at the box office. The budget of the film is about 35 crores and such low collection will definitely mar its prospect at the box office. Keeping into consideration Fanney Khan’s impressive star cast and interesting storyline, the low business of the film does come as a shock.
Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the figures. He wrote, “#FanneyKhan has an extremely poor start… Fri ₹ 2.15 cr. India biz.”. On Friday, Mr. Adarsh described the film’s performance as “extremely poor” in his tweet. He shared a tweet in which he wrote: “Terrible terrible terrible Friday… New Hindi films open to shockingly low numbers.”
Fanney Khan is directed by Atul Manjrekar. The film showcases the journey of Fanney Khan aka Anil Kapoor, who dreams of making his daughter Lata (Pihu Sand) a famous singer. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan plays the role of a renowned singer named Baby Singh whereas Rajkummar Rao plays Aishwarya’s love interest in the film.
The box office collection of the film is as follows:
Friday (Day 1): ₹ 2.15 cr
Total: ₹ 2.15 cr
