After an awful opening collection, Sonakshi Sinha and Jimmy Sheirgill starrer Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi enjoyed good jumps on Saturday and Sunday. Despite featuring some big names, the collection of the film is very similar to that of the first part.
As per the box office reports, the film earned 11.78 crores in first three days at the domestic box office. The film managed to cross 10 crores in its first weekend because of growth on Saturday and Sunday.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted out the figures, saying, “#HappyPhirrBhagJayegi witnessed day-wise growth, which is a positive sign… Opening weekend biz is better than the first part [₹ 10.71 cr]… Now needs to maintain the momentum on weekdays… Fri 2.70 cr, Sat 4.03 cr, Sun 5.05 cr. Total: ₹ 11.78 cr. India biz.”
It might not have a smooth run during weekdays since this film is not enjoying as good a word-of-mouth publicity as its prequel. Also, it will have 2 new competitors in the second week, so a good lifetime collection is out of the equation.
