Akshay Kumar starrer comedy film Housefull 3 witnessed a decent opening (approx 35%) in the morning shows, but the occupancy kept increasing as the day progressed. The shows after 5pm went on to record more than 60-65% occupancy in many places. As the film has one of the biggest releases, day one recorded the second biggest opening of the year.
As per the box office reports, this comedy flick amassed 15.25 crores on the very first day in the domestic market. SRK’s Fan still holds the record of the biggest opening of the year. As expected, the reviews are mixed and that has been the trend for all Housefull films as well as any masala comedy movies. The target audience has given thumps up to the film, so it might put a better number on Saturday and Sunday. According to the trend on Saturday, it seems that the first weekend collection should be 45-47 crores. The film has also done excellent business in the overseas markets; the first day overseas collection is approx 13.40 crores.
