Despite getting negative reviews from many critics, Varun Dhawan’s latest movie Kalank performed well on its first day at the domestic box office. The film has surpassed the opening collection of Kesari and has become the biggest opener of 2019 till date.
As per the box office reports, the film amassed 21.60 crore on Wednesday. Partial holiday in some parts of India helped the movie to push its collection to 20+ crore. Although it had a good opening, it might struggle during the weekend as the word of mouth publicity is extremely negative. If it follows Thugs of Hindustan, it will soon join the league of disasters. The film has been produced at a huge budget of 120+ crore, so anything less than 150 crore will make it a “box office failure”.
The box office collection of Kalank is as follows:
Wednesday (Day 1): ₹ 21.60 cr
Total: ₹ 21.60 cr
