Mubarakan Has an Average First Weekend Despite an Excellent Growth on Sunday

A poor opening just ruined the prospect of Anees Bazmee’s comedy flick Mubarakan at the box office. Although the film witnessed about 100% jump in the collection on Sunday compared to Friday, a below par earning on both Friday and Saturday made it an average grosser in its first weekend. As it is a typical Indian masala film, there is a little chance that it will be able to maintain its momentum during weekdays.Mubarakan Has an Average First Weekend

As per the box office reports, the movie collected Fri 5.16 cr., Sat 7.38 cr., and Sun 10.37 cr. to take its total domestic box office collection to 22.91 crores in three days.

The film still has miles to go to become a successful product for its makers. The story is based on a typical Punjabi family, so it is underperforming in all regions but Delhi and Punjab. In the coming weeks, two big movies will hit the screens, so Mubarakan needs to do least 35-40 crores business in the very first week. If it could not go beyond 35 crores in first week, it will become another average/flop movie for Arjun Kapoor whose last film Half Girlfriend was also a flop.
