Vishal Bhardwaj’s latest offering Pataakha did not work at the box office on its first day. The film has got a very small number of screens, so a big opening was not expected. However, it failed to manage even 1 crore as the opening figure.
As per the box office reports, the film earned merely 90 lakh on its first Friday. Although the film has received good ratings from critics, there is a very minimal chance that the collection will grow during the weekend. In the best scenario, the film may be able to garner 4.5 crore in its first weekend. Having Sui Dhaaga and Stree as competitors, it has a big battle ahead of it.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the collection of the movie on twitter. “#Pataakha Fri ₹ 90 lakhs [875 screens]. India biz… Had a lukewarm start at the start of Day 1 and should grow over the weekend… However, the growth has to be multi-fold since the starting point has been extremely low.“, he wrote.
Starring Sanya Malhotra, Radhika Madan, and Sunil Grover, Pataakha is based on Charan Singh Pathik’s short story titled Do Behnein. The film revolves around two fiery sisters who fight as viciously as India and Pakistan.
The box office collection of the film is as follows:
Friday (Day 1): ₹ 90 lakhs
Total: ₹ 90 lakhs
