According to a report by Times of India, UP police, arrested 26 persons after a sub-inspector and three constables were made hostage and thrashed by Muslim mobs in Kanhaisarai Chowk village of Lohta police station area on Wednesday. Police had raided a house in the village for interrogation in the case of a minor girl’s kidnapping.
A Muslim boy Shahid had eloped with a minor girl a few weeks back and her father had lodged an FIR at the police station. The police, along with the girl’s family members, reached the place where Shahid had gone in civil dress. When the police asked his family to produce the youth they caught the police officers and thrashed them. They tied those policemen with poles after thrashing them.
Later, on the directives of the SSP, SP collected policemen from 10 police stations, PAC and commandos of anti-terror squad and raided Kanhaisarai Chowk village in the evening to nab the miscreants who made the policemen hostage and thrashed them. After identifying the persons involved through video clips, the police arrested 26 persons till late Wednesday night. (Source: Times of India)
