Poor Word of Mouth Haunts Race 3 on Tuesday | Day 5 Box Office Collection

Salman Khan’s action thriller film Race 3 did an excellent business in its first weekend despite getting bad critics reviews and poor word of mouth publicity. The success of the film in first 4 days can be attributed to Salman’s huge fan base, Eid holiday, and action genre. Now it is feeling the heat and the collection has started going south.

As per the box office reports, the film collected about 9.5 crores on first Tuesday to take its total domestic box office collection to 130.21 crores after 5 days. The drop in the collection on Tuesday is more than 35% compared with the collection on Monday. It was sure from the opening day that the film will witness a sharp decline during weekdays once all the hypes cool down because a film with poor word of mouth cannot run longer at the box office. The film will have a huge first-week collection because of the humongous collection in first 3 days. But if the decline continues, it might not be able to cross even 200 crores. The budget of the film is about 150 crores, so anything less than 200 crores will hurt distributors for sure.

The business of the film is as follows:
Friday (Day 1): ₹ 29.17 cr
Saturday (Day 2): ₹ 38.14 cr
Sunday (Day 3): ₹ 39.16 cr
Monday (Day 4): ₹ 14.24 cr
Tuesday (Day 5): ₹ 9.5 cr
Total: ₹ 130.21 cr
