Irrfan Khan’s and Parvathy’s travel drama Qarib Qarib Singlle was expected to have a decent opening, but despite some good reviews, it was unable to do any magic at the box office. The film opened with a very poor response and did not get expected number of footfalls even in the late evening shows.
As per the box office reports, the film collected about 1.75 crores on first Friday. The film needs to perform on Saturday and Sunday to post a decent total in its first weekend. If it fails to gain momentum on Saturday and Sunday, it will have a hard time during weekdays. The film is mainly for multiplex audiences, but it could not impress them.

‘Qarib Qarib Singlle’ has been shot in real locations including Dehradun, Delhi, Alwar, Bikaner, Rishikesh and Gangtok. The film has some nice songs ‘Khatam Kahani’, ‘Tu Chale Toh’ and a slow number ‘Jaane De’ sung by Atif Aslam. The film traces their journey from the ghats of Rishikesh, sands of Bikaner to Gangtok in the east encapsulating all from trains, buses, ropeway to taxis.
