After having the best opening of 2018, Salman Khan’s action flick Race 3 has lost its momentum in the second week. The film could not earn a decent total in the second weekend because of poor word of mouth and competition from Hollywood movie Incredibles 2. Now it looks like weekdays are going to be more painful for the movie as the collection continues its downtrend.
As per the box office reports, the film earned approx. 1.50 crores on second Monday to take its total domestic box office collection to 161.96 crores after 11 days. The film should be able to cross the lifetime collection of Tiger Shroff’s Baaghi 2 (166 crores), however, the margin will be very thin. The lifetime collection does not look very promising too as Ranbir’s Sanju will release on Friday. The trailer of Sanju has generated a huge curiosity, so moviegoers might forget Race 3 in the third week. The budget for Race 3 is approx. 150 crores, which means the distributors are going to be in big loss whereas the makers have already recovered the cost. After Tubelight, Race 3 is the second Eid-release of Salman Khan that has hurt distributors very badly.
The box office collection of the film is as follows:
Week 1: ₹ 144.46 cr
Friday (Day 8): ₹ 3.50 cr
Saturday (Day 9): ₹ 5.50 cr
Sunday (Day 10): ₹ 7.00 cr
Monday (Day 11): ₹ 2.50 cr
Total: ₹ 162.96 AVERAGE
