Akshay Kumar’s Rustom emerged as a winner on Friday when it took more than 70% lead over its competitor Mohenjo Daro in terms of the collection. The momentum of the movie remained intact on the second day due to positive word of mouth publicity and it witnessed 16.4% jump in the collection.
As per the box office reports, the movie amassed Fri 14.11 crore, Sat 16.43 crore to take its total domestic box office collection to 30.54 crores after 2 days. The movie had performed extremely well in the multiplexes on both Friday and Saturday, but the single screen collection is lagging behind. The early reports suggest that the occupancy on Sunday is far better than the previous days and the single screens also witnessed a decent jump in the occupancy. Monday is a national holiday in India and it has already defied the competition, so there are enormous chances that the film may garner more than 40 crores in the next two days. It is heading for 70-72 crores as the first weekend collection and 90+ crores as the first week collection.
