Akshay Kumar’s crime-mystery film Rustom was expected to have a humongous opening due to positive pre-release buzz and promotion, but it witnessed a mammoth competition from Hrithik’s Mohenjo Daro. Despite witnessing a ferocious competition and a low number of screen counts, the movie has fared extremely well at the box office in both domestic and international markets.
As per the box office reports, the movie has amassed approx 14.50 crores (final numbers are awaited) on the opening day. Though the movie has received mixed review from critics, it has been given the thumbs up by the moviegoers. Also, the other release Mohenjo Daro has average word of mouth publicity, so Rustom is poised to grow even further on Saturday and Sunday. Monday, being a national holiday, will help the film to post a huge first week collection.
