Rajkumar Hirani directorial Sanju, a biopic on actor Sanjay Dutt, is showing no sign on tiredness at the box office even in the second week. After scoring a double century in its first week, the unprecedented run of the film continued on the eighth day at the ticket windows. It made more money on second Friday than most movies make on first Friday.
As per the box office reports, the film earned 13.50 crores on second Friday to take its total domestic box office collection to 216.01 crores after 8 days. The second-weekend collection is heading towards 50+ crores which means 300+ crores in its lifetime will be a cakewalk for the film. There is no major release for 2 more weeks, so if the current trend continues, it might cross the lifetime collection of Aamir Khan’s Dangal (375 crores).
The film is still running at more than 3900 screens which means even with 50% occupancy, it has the potential to earn 20+ crores on both Saturday and Sunday. Going beyond 260 crores by the end of the second weekend will ensure a blockbuster lifetime collection for the movie. It is going to be first 300+ crores movie for Ranbir Kapoor and many other actors of the film.
The box office collection of the film is as follows:
Week 1: ₹ 202.51 cr
Friday (Day 8): ₹12.90 cr
Total: ₹ 215.41 cr
