The Rajkumar Hirani directorial Sanju became the fifth biggest grosser in the history of Indian Cinema on third Tuesday. The film which crossed 300 crores mark on third Saturday maintained its pace at the box office on weekdays despite competition from new releases ‘Ant-man’ and ‘Soorma’.
As per the box office reports, the film added about 2.85 crores to its kitty on third Monday to take its total domestic box office collection to 319.49 crores after 18 days. The film has already added more than 50 lakhs till noon shows on third Tuesday and thus has surpassed the lifetime collection of Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan. Looking at the current trend, it seems that Aamir Khan’s Dangal might remain at number 2 position and Sanju may fall short of a few crores to reach the second spot in the list of highest grosser Bollywood movies.
Not only commercial success, the film has also managed to impress critics as well. It has broken quite a few records since the day of its release.
