Like Akshay Kumar’s Gold, John Abraham’s Satyameva Jayate also saw a big decline in the collection on the second day. As Satyameva Jayate is doing an excellent business in small cities, the percentage drop is less than Gold. Both the films are affecting each other’s business as word of mouth for both is extremely positive.
As per the box office reports, the film earned 7.92 crores on Thursday to take its total domestic box office collection to 28.44 crores after 2 days. The collection should start moving upward from Friday onward and it should cross the 50 crores mark in its first weekend. At the end of the first week, Satyameva Jayate will affect about 20-25 crores business of Gold and Gold will affect 10-15 crores business of Satyameva Jayate. So, the clash is going to hurt the makers of both films.
Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the collection of the film. He wrote, “#SatyamevaJayate saw a big dip on Day 2… Expected to show an upward trend today [Day 3]… Single screens/mass belt remains strong… Wed 20.52 cr, Thu 7.92 cr. Total: ₹ 28.44 cr. India biz.”
