Kangana Ranaut’s new film Simran did below average business on its first day. The film was expected to have a decent opening, but it did not live up to the hype. Simran is an Indian comedy-drama film directed by Hansal Mehta which features Kangana Ranaut in the lead role.
As per the box office reports, the film collected 2.77 crores on its opening day. The film has received mixed reviews from critics and has to face competition from many good films that are currently running, so an exceptional growth on Saturday and Sunday is out of equation.

It is doing decent business in metro areas, but is extremely poor in small cities. From the very first look, it was quite obvious that the target audience of the film is multiplex. Looking at the current trend at ticket counters, it seems that the first weekend collection may be 9-11 crores.
