Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor’s latest horror comedy film Stree is going to become one of the biggest hits of 2018. Made on a small budget of 25-30 crore, the film has already earned SUPERHIT tag in just ten days. The momentum is intact, so it should not be surprising if it earns BLOCKBUSTER tag in its lifetime. The film is all set to cross Rs. 100 crore mark by the end of the second week or in the third week, but the further journey will depend on the performance of the new releases.
As per the box office reports, the film amassed 9.88 crore on second Sunday to take its total domestic box office collection to 82.29 crore after ten days. Stree has competition from several movies, but this Amar Kaushik directorial has surpassed all the expectations by beating its competitors at the ticket windows.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the latest figures of Stree on Twitter. He wrote, “There’s no stopping this one… #Stree continues its DREAM RUN… Overpowers all new *Hindi* releases by a huge margin… En route to ₹ 100 cr Club… [Week 2] Fri 4.39 cr, Sat 7.63 cr, Sun 9.88 cr. Total: ₹ 82.29 cr. India biz.”.
Positive reviews and excellent word of mouth publicity have helped the movie to post such a huge number. There will be more than five releases on Friday and if any of them could get thumbs up from moviegoers, the non-stop run of Stree might slow down. So, it needs to maintain the pace during the weekdays to get closer to the century mark.
The box office collection of the film is as follows:
Week 1: ₹ 60.39 cr
Friday (Day 8): ₹ 4.39 cr
Saturday (Day 9): ₹ 7.63 cr
Sunday (Day 10): ₹ 9.88 cr
Total: ₹ 82.29 cr
