Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao starrer horror comedy movie Stree surpassed all expectations in its first weekend. Because of positive word of mouth, the film witnessed superb growth over the weekend. Although it is facing competition from several new and old releases at the ticket windows, it passed the weekend test with flying colors. As per the box office reports, the film amassed 13.57 crores on first Sunday to take its total domestic box office collection to 31.26 crores after 3 days. The film itself is made at a budget of approximately Rs 20-25 crore. That means it has already recovered its cost in only three days. It has potential to score a half-century in its first week and might surprise box office pundits with its lifetime collection.
Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh posted the film’s collection on Twitter. “All estimations and calculations go for a toss… #Stree wreaks havoc at ticket counters… Multiplexes, single screens, metros, mass circuits – this one has worked across the board… Fri 6.82 cr, Sat 10.87 cr, Sun 13.57 cr. Total: ₹ 31.26 cr. India biz.”
