Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, and Pankaj Tripathi starrer Horror comedy Stree has proved all trade pundits wrong in first 4 days at the box office. The film was expected to have an average opening as it does not feature any big name other than Shraddha Kapoor, but it seems that it is following the path of Alia Bhatt’s Raazi.
As per the box office reports, the film amassed 9.70 crores on first Monday to take its total domestic box office collection to 41.97 crores after 4 days. It is doing excellent business in almost all places despite competition from Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se and hence the collection is expected to remain steady during weekdays.
Sharing the latest box office figures of Stree on Twitter, trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote, “#Stree runs riot at the BO… Surpasses expectations by putting up a FANTASTIC TOTAL on Day 4 [#Janmashtami holiday]… Fri 6.83 cr, Sat 10.87 cr, Sun 14.57 cr, Mon 9.70 cr. Total: ₹ 41.97 cr. India biz… This one’s a SUPER HIT.”
The film has been made on a very modest budget of 25-30 crores, so it is going to be one of the best movies of 2018 in terms of ROI. The Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor film has a very strong word of mouth publicity and there is an enormous possibility that it will cross 100 crores in its lifetime.
The box office collection of the film is as follows:
Friday (Day 1): ₹ 6.83 cr
Saturday (Day 2): ₹ 10.87 cr
Sunday (Day 3): ₹ 14.57 cr
Monday (Day 4): ₹ 9.70 cr
