Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma starrer sports drama Sultan failed to show any growth on its second day in the Chinese market. The movie had a below-average opening and was expected to grow on Saturday, but the competition from Mission: Impossible – Fallout is hurting the movie.
As per the box office reports, the film earned $1.09 mn on Saturday to take its total Chinese box office collection to $2.03 mn [~ 14 cr] after 2 days. The film might have the similar fate on Sunday as per the current trend. The first-weekend collection may be less than 25 crores, so the film will fail to post a decent total in its lifetime.
Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh posted the film’s collection on Twitter. “#Sultan continues to struggle… Witnesses limited growth on Day 2 in China, but with a low starting point, the growth should’ve been threefold or thereabouts… Let’s see what Day 3 [Sun] has in store… Fri $ 940,000 Sat $ 1.09 mn Total: $ 2.03 mn [₹ 14.38 cr]“.
The box office collection of the film is as follows:
Friday (Day 1): $ 940,000
Saturday (Day 2): $ 1.09 mn
Total: $ 2.03 mn
