After a historic opening, Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan starrer Thugs of Hindostan (TOH) has been declining incessantly. Despite being a solo holiday release, the film is not able to get the desired number of footfalls. Thugs of Hindostan has largely received poor reviews from critics and word of mouth publicity is also extremely negative. As per the box office reports, the film earned 22.75 crore on Saturday to take its total domestic box office collection to 101.75 crore after 3 days. The negativity around the movie has taken a toll on its collection and the decline may continue even on Sunday. The collection during weekend insinuates that the collection will hit the nadir during weekdays. It will meet several new competitors in its second week, so it needs to cross at least 150 crore in its first week to surpass the lifetime collection of Race 3. Like Race 3, Thugs of Hindostan may also fail to score a double century at the box office. The budget of the movie is about 300 crore, which means distributors will be in huge loss.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the box office figure of the film. He wrote,”#ThugsOfHindostan HINDI: Thu 50.75 cr, Fri 28.25 cr, Sat 22.75 cr. Total: ₹ 101.75 cr TAMIL + TELUGU: Thu 1.50 cr, Fri 1 cr, Sat 75 lakhs. Total: ₹ 3.25 cr Total: ₹ 105 cr [5000 screens] India biz. #TOH”
