Tubelight scores a century in 7 days | First week box office collection

Despite a poor performance at the ticket counters, Salman’s latest film Tubelight scored a century at the domestic box office in 7 days. As the production cost of the movie excluding Salman’s fee is more than 100 crores, it has to score at least another half-century to make the distributors happy. Though the makers have made humongous profit by selling the rights, distributors from both India and overseas are going to lose heavily if the film fails to do magic in the second week.Tubelight scores a century in 7 days

As per the trade pundits, the collection of the movie in the very first week is as follows:  Fri 21.15 cr, Sat 21.17 cr, Sun 22.45 cr, Mon 19.09 cr [Eid], Tue 12 cr, Wed 6.50 cr, and Thu 4.50 cr. The domestic box office collection of the film in the first week is 106.86 crores nett.

The kind of drop it has witnessed during weekdays bodes disaster in the second week. The film is also performing extremely bad in the international markets, so there is no chance for it to post a decent worldwide gross collection in the lifetime. As per the trend on bookmyshow, it seems that the average occupancy on second Friday is less than 15% i.e. the collection will 3-4 crores. Tubelight is going to be the worst movie for Salman Khan that hit the screens during Eid and it may turn out another ‘Jai Ho’ for him.
