Vidya Balan’s comedy-drama film Tumhari Sulu could not maintain the momentum during weekdays and as a result of that, it failed to cross even 20 crore in the very first week. The film enjoyed a good jump in the collection during the weekend but failed to bring moviegoers to the theaters after Monday.
As per the box office reports, the film collected 19.78 crore in first seven days in the domestic market. Though the film is based on an excellent story, it seems that it will not be able to repeat the magic of Hindi Medium.
#TumhariSulu showed GOOD TRENDING on weekdays… Lack of major film this week should help consolidate its status… Fri 2.87 cr, Sat 4.61 cr, Sun 5.39 cr, Mon 1.84 cr, Tue 1.85 cr, Wed 1.67 cr, Thu 1.55 cr. Total: ₹ 19.78 cr. India biz.

Hindi Medium had the similar opening, but that film did not drop during weekdays and scored a half-century at the box office. On the contrary, Tumhari Sulu remained dull during weekdays and hence the lifetime collection will be about 30 crores.
